Versatility with a wide range of monofins is a hallmark of Nereid Studios fabric tails. To help those using smaller monofins who prefer a more 'solid' look to fill out the flukes better, we've come up with an innovative solution: a versatile, adjustable vinyl filler!
IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is for use with our NEW FABRIC tails ONLY (i.e. labelled with [New Fabric] OR fabric type not indicated). It will NOT fit the legacy fabric tails as the new flukes are larger and have different proportions.
Each set purchased comes with 2 sheets of fluke-shaped vinyl to be used together as a pair (with your own monofin secured between them) + 7 pieces of velcro to secure them with. The velcro can be cut down to your preferred length if required. Align both sheets together, then loop the velcro securely through the slits along the sides of the vinyl in order to secure; it's that easy!
NOTE: This is an optional add-on product, and does NOT come included with our fabric tails. Our tails are perfectly swimmable without this product, and using it is up to your preference. You can purchase a single set separately and use one set for all your Nereid Studios tails; this avoids unnecessary duplicates, is better for the environment, and saves you storage space!
The vinyl filler features plenty of options for where to position your velcro, so you can get that perfect fit to secure almost any monofin. Even with the same monofin, there are different ways that you can secure it so that the monofin sits higher or lower relative to the fluke. This can be very helpful for adjusting the position of the monofin according to your preferences and leg length. In the product images, we have included a few possible examples of various positions some common monofins can be secured in, but these are not exhaustive by any means, only suggestions! You are completely free to experiment and come up with a way of securing that works best for YOU, your body, and your equipment.
To adapt to our open-fluke tail style, the flexibility in where to position the velcro allows you to attach it securely to your preferred monofin, such that it becomes like an extension of your monofin and does not fall out. We've also designed the shape of the filler such that it still allows the snaps at the bottom of the tail to be closed. We hope that this product can be the perfect answer to those of you who use smaller monofins but still want a more solid look for your flukes!
SAFETY ADVISORY: Use of this product in the water is for experienced and confident swimmers who are very used to swimming in mermaid tails only, and usage is at the user's own risk. This vinyl filler is an add-on to help give the fluke a more solid look, NOT a substitute for a monofin. If using this product in the water to swim, it needs to be used in tandem with a suitable monofin (not included) in order to generate appropriate propulsion. Please discontinue use immediately if it results in difficulties swimming.
